Following the life of an ordinary family, which consists of
a young married couple Maria (Naomi Watts) and Henry (Ewan McGregor) and their
three children, the film unusually realistic and brutal describes the
destruction of the coast of Thailand, by the unstoppable tsunami that tossed
the country to its knees. Separated from each other, the two halves of the
family will have to break through the ruined landscapes, full of dead and
wounded, in the hope that they will be able to unite.
